Wow! That was unexpected!

I posted a few months back about Dot being very anti using the toilet or potty, well I left it and just talked to her about it, bought a couple of books, then about 4 weeks ago decided to try again. There was a sticker chart in one of the books, so I stuck that up where she could see it and told her what it was for. I decided the bare bottom approach would be best, the first week I persevered, lots of mopping up but nothing in the potty. I was just about to give up and try again in a few months, when she went and sat on the potty, completely un-prompted! Lots of praise was given, and that was pretty much it! The first potty-pee happened on the tuesday, and by the friday I felt confident enough to take her to toddler group without a nappy. She has only had a couple of accidents since, and now we are catching most wees and poos on the toilet, yay!
What has really surprised me though, is that she is now completely dry at night too! :yahoo:
Waiting until your lo is ready is soooooo much easier for everyone!

Agreed, no point in pushing it, just drags it out further. I wonder if there is a link between pushing pt early and being in nappies at night for longer or being 'accident prone' for longer?
