Should I give up?

Hi my 2 1/2 year old has decided she doesn't want to wear nappies anymore and asked to start using big girl pants like the other children at nursery. It's been a week and she still hasn't actually started using the potty and just wets herself. She sits on the potty for a while then says "not coming mommy" and gets up. Should I give up and discourage her from potty training or should I Alfie it another week? Please help! X

And perhaps also get some story books about using the toilet / potty to cue her into what she needs to do

WTS! Definitely give it a rest for now & maybe try again in a month or so.

I'd give it a break for even a few days and try again. Have you got her some big girl knickers (let her pick them)? Sticker charts can also help.

I also can't believe she is 2.5 already
