Wait till lo is ready or even over ready and it will happen much quicker and easier. Have potty trained loads of kids during my childcare days.

Do lots of pre potty training. i.e talking about it, seeing you go etc

Just done my lo and he is 2 years 4 mths and had no accidents after 2 days and was in pants at all times in a week. He did it himself really.

Reward star chart worked a treat and a little sweet on success in early days!! :giggle:

Was scared of pooing without nappy as think it was all just a bit unknown so he did poo in nappy and then i put it intio potty for him to see and put down toliet like wees. Within a couple of weeks he now poos on potty. :wine:

Many more tips but too many to write. Hope these help someone out there!! :hohoho:

we've just potty trained in less than a week. We started with a bare bum in the garden last sat, the following day she realised she needed to wee on the potty and not down her legs (also poos), and 5 days later she was in knickers all day. She seems to be dry at night too...

i just refused to put a nappy on her and she soon realised the potty was the place to go! She's been ready for a while, as she used to ask for a nappy when she needed a wee/poo when she was nappy free and could hold it until i got one. shes 23 months.

i think the more time spent without a nappy on the better, providing they are ready!

We did the same - Charlotte was 20 months at the time and the HV told us to wait when I said I thought she was ready. We decided to give it a crack anyway because the weather was nice and just let her run around naked from the waist down for a couple of days in the house and every time she had an accident I would say "Don't wee on the floor. Wee goes in the potty." and I'd whisk her away to the potty. We were accident free within about a week.

It involved a lot of time in the house so I would also take her out to the park for half an hour right after she did a wee to give her the message that weeing on command results in going out. It seems to have worked because I don't have any problems getting her to wee before bed, etc. We've got dry nights as well but she has a cold at the moment and has been wetting hte bed almost every night since she caught it... But we havent had any proper accidents in a few weeks. I'm still letting her run around the house naked with babylegs on and her potty out so that she can have control over what's going on. She's not really big enough to pull her own trousers down etc.
