Our council won't take shredded paper for recycling so it's worth checking.

I've always thrown it in the recycling bin along with all the other paper and card (although we don't get much, just what comes in packaging occasionally and we burn documents we don't need any longer) But a few handfuls in the compost bin is fine too. Have you ever made your own paper? You could use the shredded stuff for that, I want to make plantable seed tags from waste paper, to attatch to gifts, never got round to it yet though

Ooh lucky you having a bin for glass - I have to make DH go to the dump every few months with our embarassing collection of booze bottles, when the pile beside our house is making our neighbour twitcy  and the previous tenant stole our garden waste bin.
